What is the difference between TheraNatal One and TheraNatal Complete?
TheraNatal One contains only the most essential nutrients for pregnancy, including vitamin D3, methylated folate, iron, iodine, and DHA, in one easy-to-swallow softgel.*
TheraNatal Complete is our most comprehensive prenatal in three pills per day. It includes everything in TheraNatal One, plus extra vitamin B6 to reduce pregnancy-related nausea, 250 mg of choline to support healthy brain development, and several other key nutrients for pregnancy.*
How is TheraNatal One different from other prenatals?
TheraNatal One is an essential prenatal, delivering the most important nutrients for you and your baby during pregnancy in one easy-to-swallow softgel:
75 mcg (3,000 IU) of vitamin D3 to maintain healthy vitamin D levels during pregnancy*
220 mcg of iodine to promote thyroid hormone production*
27 mg of iron to support increased red blood cell production*
300 mg of DHA to support healthy brain development*
Plus several other key nutrients during pregnancy*
TheraNatal One is also independently tested and certified by NSF® International for content accuracy, purity, and freedom from contaminants. That means it has everything it should, and nothing it shouldn’t. Plus, our fish oil goes through additional testing and certification by the International Fish Oil Standards (IFOS) program to ensure it’s free of mercury, PCBs, and other contaminants commonly found in fish oil.
When you choose TheraNatal One, you don’t just get a prenatal. You get peace of mind.
Can I start taking TheraNatal One before I am pregnant?
Yes. While TheraNatal One is formulated to meet your needs during pregnancy, the nutrient doses in this prenatal are safe to take while you’re trying to conceive, too.
Can I continue taking TheraNatal One after pregnancy?
You can finish taking any remaining TheraNatal One after pregnancy.
If you are planning to breastfeed, TheraNatal Lactation Complete is specifically formulated to meet your unique nutrients needs while breastfeeding. If you will be breastfeeding for at least several months, it is better to switch to TheraNatal Lactation Complete while breastfeeding instead of continuing with TheraNatal One.
If you are NOT planning to breastfeed, we recommend transitioning to a women's multivitamin like Essentia once you finish taking TheraNatal One.
What is the source of DHA in TheraNatal One?
TheraNatal One contains 300 mg of DHA from AlaskOmega®, a highly purified omega-3 fish oil concentrate that’s sustainably sourced from wild-caught Alaska pollock from the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska.
Every batch of fish oil in TheraNatal One is also tested and certified by the International Fish Oil Standards (IFOS) program to ensure it’s free from harmful contaminants, including mercury, lead, and PCBs. It has continually received the highest rating of five stars from IFOS, which reflects its exceptional quality, purity, and safety.
Can I take TheraNatal One if I’m allergic to fish?
TheraNatal One contains omega-3 fish oil derived from wild-caught Alaska pollock. If you are allergic to fish, TheraNatal One may not be safe for you. Consult your allergist and/or healthcare team.
Can I take TheraNatal One if I'm allergic to shellfish?
TheraNatal One does not contain shellfish.
If you have reacted to radiocontrast material or antiseptics that contain iodine, you may still be able to safely take TheraNatal One, even though it contains iodine. These reactions are commonly confused with a sensitivity to iodine or shellfish, though studies have shown that they are not related.
Can I take other nutritional supplements along with TheraNatal One?
Certain supplements can be taken along with TheraNatal One, including Ovasitol or CalMag Thins. However, we do not recommend taking another multivitamin or prenatal with TheraNatal One.
