Are there any side effects from taking DHEA 25?

Is there anyone who should not take DHEA 25?
Yes. The following individuals should not take DHEA 25:

  • Anyone under the age of 18.
  • Competitive athletes. DHEA is banned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the International Olympic Committee, and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
  • Women who are pregnant or nursing, have endometriosis, or have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
  • Those with liver problems.
  • Those with a history of hormone-related cancer, such as breast or prostate cancer.
  • Individuals with diabetes, unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider.
  • Those with hyperlipidemia.
  • Men trying to father a pregnancy.
  • Can I take DHEA 25 with other nutritional supplements?
    Yes. DHEA 25 can be taken with most other nutritional supplements. However, if you’re considering DHEA with inositol, check with your healthcare provider. DHEA may raise testosterone levels and inositol may lower testosterone levels, counteracting the potential benefit of either supplement.
    Does DHEA 25 interact with any prescription medications?
    The list below includes some of the more common potential interactions. This is not meant to be a comprehensive list or take the place of advice from your healthcare provider. As with any dietary supplement, discuss with your pharmacist and/or healthcare team to determine whether DHEA 25 can be taken with your medications.

    Anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs (heparin, warfarin (Coumadin), apixaban (Eliquis), enoxaparin (Lovenox), clopidogrel (Plavix), aspirin): DHEA may increase the risk of bleeding when taken with these medications.

    Aromatase inhibitors (anastrozole, exemestane, letrozole): DHEA may counteract the effects of these medications.

    Fulvestrant (Faslodex): DHEA may interfere with the anti-estrogen effects of this medication.

    Tamoxifen (Novaldex): DHEA may interfere with the anti-estrogen effects of this medication.
