PRODUCT FAQ

Q. What is Ovasitol?

Ovasitol is a 100% pure, unflavored inositol powder. It provides a combination of myo-inositol and d-chiro-inositol in the body’s naturally occurring ratio of 40:1, and is the first and only 40:1 inositol supplement that is independently tested and certified by NSF® International for content accuracy and purity.

Studies have shown that taking a combination of these two forms, in this ratio, is more beneficial than taking myo-inositol or D-chiro inositol alone.* One level scoop of Ovasitol provides 2,000 mg of myo-inositol + 50 mg of D-chiro-inositol.

Q. What is CurcuSorb?

CurcuSorb contains an easy-to-absorb, highly bioavailable turmeric complex. In a clinical study, CurcuSorb’s turmeric complex had the highest bioavailability compared to standard turmeric extract, turmeric extract with Bioperine® (black pepper), and Meriva® curcumin phytosome.1

Just one 300 mg capsule of CurcuSorb increases curcuminoid blood levels as much as nearly 2,000 mg of standard turmeric.*

CurcuSorb is independently tested and certified for content accuracy, purity, and freedom from contaminants by NSF® International.

Q. Who is likely to benefit from Ovasitol and CurcuSorb?

Women trying to promote healthy hormone, blood sugar, insulin, and lipid levels may benefit from taking these products.*

Q. Is there anyone who should not take Ovasitol or CurcuSorb?

Most people can safely take Ovasitol, and there is research showing benefit from taking inositol throughout pregnancy.* Check with your healthcare provider to learn more.

Do not take CurcuSorb if you are pregnant or nursing, if you have had gallstones, bile duct obstruction, or liver problems, or if you have a known allergy to turmeric or curcumin. Consult with your healthcare provider before taking CurcuSorb if you have a medical condition.

Q. Are there any side effects to Ovasitol or CurcuSorb?

There are no expected side effects from Ovasitol or CurcuSorb.

Q. Can I take Ovasitol and CurcuSorb with other dietary supplements?

You can take Ovasitol with other dietary supplements. However, if you are considering taking Ovasitol and DHEA together, please check with your healthcare provider. DHEA may raise testosterone levels and counteract the potential beneficial effects of an inositol supplement in certain individuals.

You can also take CurcuSorb with most other supplements, such as multivitamins, glucosamine, chondroitin, cranberry, and PEA. Use caution if taking supplements such as indole-3-carbinol, melatonin, omega-3s docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) while taking CurcuSorb, as these all have potential blood-thinning effects.

If low blood sugar is a concern for you, be sure to monitor your blood sugar while taking CurcuSorb and Ovasitol. Turmeric (found in CurcuSorb) and inositol (found in Ovasitol) may lower blood sugar levels. Taking turmeric or inositol along with other herbs and supplements that might lower blood sugar (such as krill oil, goldenseal, and milk thistle) could lower it too much.

Q. Does Ovasitol interact with any prescription medications?

You can take Ovasitol along with most prescription medications. However, if you are considering using Ovasitol and have a prescription to control your blood sugar, please check with your healthcare provider.

Ovasitol can also be taken if you are taking thyroid medication. However, these should be taken at different times. It is typically recommended to take thyroid medications on an empty stomach, 30-60 minutes before consuming anything else. If you take your thyroid medication early in the morning, wait for at least 30-60 minutes before taking Ovasitol.

Q. Does CurcuSorb interact with any prescription medications?

CurcuSorb may interact with the following medications. It is best to discuss your current medications with your healthcare provider or pharmacist to make sure CurcuSorb is right for you.

Antiplatelet drugs (aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB), heparin, and warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven)): These medications prevent blood clots by slowing blood clotting. Taking a turmeric/curcumin supplement along with these medications may increase the risk of bleeding.

Medications for diabetes: The turmeric in CurcuSorb may naturally lower blood glucose (sugar) levels. Diabetes medications are also used to lower blood glucose. Taking turmeric/curcumin along with medications for diabetes may cause your blood sugar to go too low. Monitor your blood sugar closely. Separate by 3-4 hours.

Since turmeric has antiplatelet and hypoglycemic effects, it is recommended to discontinue CurcuSorb at least 2 weeks before surgical procedures.
