What are glucosamine and chondroitin?
Glucosamine and chondroitin are both major components of your cartilage, a type of connective tissue that cushions your joints so you can keep moving with ease.* But each compound plays a slightly different role in joint health.
Glucosamine helps build and maintain healthy cartilage.* It also helps form synovial fluid, which lubricates your joints and helps them move easily.* Chondroitin helps support elasticity – it helps your cartilage retain water so your joints can bounce back after impact.*

Are there any expected side effects from taking OptiFlex?
Is there anyone who should not take OptiFlex?
Does OptiFlex contain shellfish?
Yes. The glucosamine in OptiFlex-G is derived from the exoskeletons (shell) of shellfish. Allergic reactions in people with a shellfish allergy are caused by antigens in the meat, not to antigens in the shell. Studies have demonstrated the safety of glucosamine supplements in individuals with a shellfish allergy.
So, individuals with a shellfish allergy may still be able to take OptiFlex-G. If you have a serious shellfish allergy or are unsure whether you can take glucosamine with your shellfish allergy, consult with your allergist.
How long should I take OptiFlex?
OptiFlex is designed for continuous, long-term use. Clinical studies have demonstrated the safety and benefit of 1,000–1,500 mg of glucosamine sulfate for up to three years.*
Chondroitin sulfate has been used safely in doses of up to 2,000 mg daily for up to six years.* It typically takes at least three months to notice benefit.
