Dextromethorphan (over-the-counter cold/flu medications): Berberine may increase the levels and side effects of dextromethorphan in the body.

Losartan (Cozaar): Berberine may reduce the therapeutic effects of losartan.

Medications for diabetes: Berberine may have additional blood sugar-lowering effects when taken with medications to manage blood sugar and diabetes. Talk with your healthcare provider and monitor your blood sugar closely if you’re taking berberine and a medication for diabetes.
