Q. How is Remplir different?

Remplir contains methylcobalamin (methylated vitamin B₁₂) and chelated magnesium (magnesium bisglycinate) for optimal absorption and bioavailability.* Methylcobalamin is a biologically active form of vitamin B₁₂ and is effective in restoring healthy B₁₂ levels. Magnesium bisglycinate is a chelated form of the mineral magnesium. Chelated minerals are bound to a chelating agent, in this case, the amino acid glycine, which improves absorption and results in superior bioavailability.

Remplir is the only vitamin B₁₂ and magnesium supplement that is independently tested and certified by NSF® International. This certification ensures that each tablet contains the doses that are listed on the label and do not contain contaminants. NSF certification is your best guarantee that you are getting a pure and accurate dose of vitamin B₁₂ and magnesium.

Q. Who is likely to benefit from Remplir?

Remplir may be beneficial for any adult taking an acid-reducing medication (such as Prilosec, Nexium etc.), metformin, or other medications that deplete vitamin B₁₂ and magnesium levels in the body.* Remplir can also be beneficial for adults 60 and older, vegans, vegetarians, or anyone who does not get enough of these nutrients from their daily diet.

Q. Are there any side effects from taking Remplir?

No. There are no expected side effects from Remplir.

Q. Can I take Remplir with other dietary supplements?

Yes. You can take Remplir along with most multivitamins or other nutritional supplements. Do not take with other single nutrient supplements or B Complex supplements that contain large doses of vitamin B₁₂ or magnesium without speaking with your health care team.

Q. Does Remplir interact with any prescription medications?

Yes. As with any dietary supplement, it is recommended you discuss with your pharmacist and or health care team to clarify whether Remplir can be taken along with your medications.

Check with your doctor if you are taking the following medications:

Chloramphenicol (antibiotic) – Vitamin B₁₂ is important for producing new blood cells. Chloramphenicol might decrease new blood cells. Taking chloramphenicol for a long time might decrease the effects of vitamin B₁₂ on new blood cells. Taking chloramphenicol for a short time (one month or less) isn't generally a problem.

Remplir may affect the absorption of certain prescription medications as follows:

Antibiotics: Certain nutrients such as magnesium can bind to antibiotics in the stomach and reduce their absorption and effectiveness. Depending on the antibiotic prescribed, you may need to separate taking any vitamin and mineral supplement from antibiotics by at least 2 to possibly 6 hours or discontinue taking the supplement while taking the antibiotic.

Captopril - This medication helps control blood pressure. Magnesium in Remplir can affect absorption of this medication. Separate by 2 hours.

Digoxin (Lanoxin) – This medication helps the heart beat more strongly. Taking magnesium in Remplir at the same time as this medication may decrease the absorption of this medication, therefore, decreasing the effectiveness. Separate by 2 hours.

Dilantin (phenytoin) – This medication is an anti-epileptic drug used to control seizures. Magnesium in Remplir can affect absorption of this medication. Separate by 2 hours.

Oral Bisphosphonates (i.e., alendronate (Fosamax), etidronate (Didronel), risedronate (Actonel), ibandronate (Boniva), tiludronate (Skelid)) – These medications alter bone formation and breakdown in the body, slowing down bone loss and helping to prevent bone fractures. Taking magnesium along these medications can decrease how much bisphosphate the body absorbs. Separate by 2 hours.

Sotalol (Betapace) – This medication helps the heartbeat normally in people with certain heart rhythm disorders. Magnesium in Remplir can affect the absorption of this antiarrhythmic medication. Separate by at least 2 hours.

Thyroid hormone (levothyroxine, Synthroid) – This medication is used to treat an underactive thyroid gland, and should always be taken on an empty stomach, 30-60 minutes before eating. Remplir should be taken with a meal, so should be taken at least 30-60 minutes after taking this medication, once you have eaten. Although certain forms of magnesium affect the absorption of thyroid hormone, the magnesium form in Remplir does not.
