Can I start taking TheraNatal Complete before I am pregnant?
Can I continue taking TheraNatal Complete after pregnancy?
If you are planning to breastfeed, TheraNatal Lactation Complete is specifically formulated to meet your unique nutrients needs while breastfeeding. If you will be breastfeeding for at least several months, it is better to switch to TheraNatal Lactation Complete while breastfeeding instead of continuing with TheraNatal Complete.
If you are NOT planning to breastfeed, we recommend transitioning to a women's multivitamin like Essentia once you finish taking TheraNatal Complete.
What is the source of DHA in TheraNatal Complete?
Every batch of fish oil in TheraNatal Complete is also tested and certified by the International Fish Oil Standards (IFOS) program to ensure it’s free from harmful contaminants, including mercury, lead, and PCBs. Can I take TheraNatal Complete if I'm allergic to shellfish?
If you have reacted to radiocontrast material or antiseptics that contain iodine, you may still be able to safely take TheraNatal Complete, even though it contains iodine. These reactions are commonly confused with a sensitivity to iodine or shellfish, though studies have shown that they are not related.

Can I take other nutritional supplements along with TheraNatal Complete?
Does TheraNatal Complete interact with any prescription medications?
Antibiotics: Taking calcium, magnesium, iron, and/or zinc (in TheraNatal Complete) with antibiotics can decrease their absorption and effectiveness. Depending on which antibiotic is prescribed, you may need to separate TheraNatal Complete from the antibiotic, as indicated below.
Levodopa, Carbidopa: Taking iron (in TheraNatal Complete) might decrease the absorption of these medications. Take at separate times of the day.
Oral Bisphosphonates (i.e., alendronate (Fosamax), etidronate (Didronel), risedronate (Actonel), ibandronate (Boniva), tiludronate (Skelid)): Magnesium, calcium, and iron (in TheraNatal Complete) can decrease the absorption of these medications. Separate from TheraNatal Complete by 2 hours.
Penicillamine (Cuprimine, Depen): Iron (in TheraNatal Complete) may decrease the absorption of this medication. Separate from TheraNatal Complete by 2 hours.
Thyroid hormone (levothyroxine, Synthroid): Minerals in TheraNatal Complete can reduce the absorption of thyroid hormone medications. Separate the speckled tablet and thyroid hormone by at least 4 hours.
Medications for overactive thyroid (methimazole, propylthiouracil): Iodine (in TheraNatal Complete) might change the effects of these medications. Consult with your healthcare provider if you’re taking medication for an overactive thyroid with TheraNatal Complete.
