QUALITY YOU CAN TRUST

Made in the USA in a GMP-compliant facility. Independently tested and certified by NSF® International.

THE MAJOR FOUR ... AND MORE

PhytoLife Balance fills in the four key nutrients that are most likely to get missed in a plant-based diet: vitamins B12, K2, and D3, plus omega-3 in its DHA and EPA forms. It also supplies vitally important minerals that can be hard to absorb or get enough of from plant foods alone — including calcium, iodine, iron, magnesium, and zinc, to round out the support.

Vitamin K2
Did you know? Vitamin K comes in two different forms, K1 and K2, and they have different benefits. K1 is readily available in leafy greens and other vegetables, but K2 is hard to get from plants. Some vegan support supplements fail to include this key nutrient, but PhytoLife Balance has you covered.

Vitamin B12
B12 is one of the most important nutrients that can go missing from plant-based diets. It's necessary for brain and nerve health, metabolism, DNA synthesis, and other functions.* PhytoLife Balance delivers two different forms of B12 for better coverage.

Vitamin D3
Some multivitamins only contain the D2 form of Vitamin D. The superior D3 form is more effective at raising and maintaining healthy vitamin D levels*, and it doesn't naturally occur in most plant foods. PhytoLife Balance brings you a fully vegan form of D3 derived from lichen.

Omega-3s
Although nuts and seeds are plant-based sources of omega-3, they contain the ALA form. PhytoLife Balance gives you the two forms your body needs most, DHA and EPA, which are more likely to be missing in a plant-based diet.

Q: Who is likely to benefit from PhytoLife Balance?

Anyone who chooses a plant-based diet. Plant-based diets are a great option – packed with fiber, phytonutrients, and most vitamins and minerals. But there are still a few nutrients that aren’t sufficiently available in most plant foods. That’s where PhytoLife Balance can step in to fill in any nutrient gaps and bring balance to your plant-based diet.

Q. Are there any side effects from taking PhytoLife Balance?

No. There are no expected side effects from PhytoLife Balance.

Q. When should I take PhytoLife Balance?

You can take PhytoLife Balance daily with any meal. The tablet and capsule can be taken together, or separately, with food. For example, take the PhytoLife Balance tablet and capsule in the morning with breakfast. Another option is to take the tablet with breakfast and the capsule with lunch or dinner.

Q. Can I take PhytoLife Balance with other dietary supplements?

Yes. You can take PhytoLife Balance along with other nutritional supplements, including inositol, calcium, melatonin, PEA, cranberry, and glucosamine and chondroitin.

Q. Does PhytoLife Balance interact with any prescription medications?

Yes. As with any dietary supplement, it's recommended that you discuss with your pharmacist and healthcare team to clarify whether PhytoLife Balance can be taken along with your medications.

PhytoLife Balance may affect the absorption of certain prescription medications as follows:

Antibiotics: Certain nutrients such as calcium, iron, zinc, and magnesium can bind to antibiotics in the stomach and reduce their absorption and effectiveness. Depending on the antibiotic, you may need to separate taking any vitamin and mineral supplement from antibiotics by at least 2 to 6 hours or even discontinue taking the supplement while taking the antibiotic. Please discuss with your pharmacist and healthcare team to determine whether you should stop taking your multivitamin for a short period of time.
  • • Penicillamine (Cuprimine, Depen) – Separate by 2 hours
  • • Cephalexin (Keflex) – Take PhytoLife Balance 3 hours or more after taking this antibiotic
  • • Tetracycline antibiotics (doxycycline, minocycline, demeclocycline) – Separate by 4 hours
  • • Ciprofloxacin (Cipro), gemifloxacin (Factive), levofloxacin (Levaquin), Moxifloxacin (Avelox) – Separate by 6 hour

Atorvastatin (Lipitor) – This medication helps control cholesterol levels in the body. Taking it with PhytoLife Balance, which contains 50 mcg (2,000 IU) of vitamin D, may decrease the amount of atorvastatin absorbed by the body. Separate by a minimum of 2 hours.

Captopril – This medication helps control blood pressure. The iron and magnesium in PhytoLife Balance can affect absorption of this medication. Separate by 2 hours.

Digoxin (Lanoxin) – This medication helps the heart beat more strongly. Taking PhytoLife Balance, which contains magnesium, at the same time as this medication may decrease the absorption and effectiveness of this medication. Separate by 2 hours.

Dilantin (phenytoin) – This medication is an anti-epileptic drug used to control seizures. The calcium and magnesium in PhytoLife Balance can affect absorption of this medication. Separate by 2 hours.

Oral Bisphosphonates (i.e., alendronate (Fosamax), etidronate (Didronel), risedronate (Actonel), ibandronate (Boniva), tiludronate (Skelid)) – These medications alter bone formation and breakdown in the body, slowing down bone loss and helping to prevent bone fractures. Taking calcium, magnesium or iron (all of which are found in PhytoLife Balance) along with these medications can decrease how much bisphosphate the body absorbs. Separate by 2 hours.

Sotalol (Betapace))– This medication helps the heart beat normally in people with certain heart rhythm disorders. The calcium and magnesium in PhytoLife Balance can affect absorption of this medication. Separate by at least 2 hours.

Thiazide diuretics (aka: water pills) – These medications are used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure as well as the accumulation of fluid and swelling (edema) in the body. These medications also increase the amount of calcium in the body. Vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium. Taking PhytoLife Balance, which contains 50 mcg (2,000 IU) of vitamin D, along with these medications, may cause too much calcium in the body.

Thyroid hormone (levothyroxine, Synthroid) – This medication is used to treat an underactive thyroid gland, and should always be taken on an empty stomach, 30-60 minutes before eating. PhytoLife Balance should be taken with a meal, so should not be taken with these medications. Iron, calcium and magnesium (as found in PhytoLife Balance) can reduce the absorption of these thyroid hormone medications. Separate by at least 4 hours.

Please discuss with your pharmacist or healthcare team to determine whether you should take multivitamins if you take any of these medications:

Coumadin (Warfarin) – Studies show that low-dose vitamin K (100 mcg) is unlikely to affect INR and may actually help to stabilize INR levels. PhytoLife Balance contains 100 mcg of vitamin K and should be safe to take.

Medications that are changed by the liver Cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP34) substrates CYP34 are important enzymes, mainly found in the liver to break down medications in the body. Vitamin D may increase how quickly the liver breaks down some medications. Taking PhytoLife Balance, which contains 50 mcg (2,000 IU) vitamin D, along with some medications may decrease the effectiveness of those medications. Before taking PhytoLife Balance, talk to your healthcare provider to determine whether you're taking medications that are changed by the liver—for example lovastatin, clarithromycin, estrogens, and others.
