Q. How is IsoRel different from other soy isoflavone supplements?

IsoRel is produced from 100% Novasoy, a whole soybean extract, which means that each capsule provides the naturally occurring soy isoflavones (genistin, daidzin, and glycitin) in the same isoflavone ratio as found in soybeans. IsoRel provides 100 mg of soy isoflavones in only one small capsule per day.

Q. How long should I take IsoRel?

Research studies indicates that it may take up to three months of consistent use to see the benefits of the soy isoflavones found in IsoRel. Your healthcare provider can help you determine how long you should continue IsoRel.

Q. Does IsoRel have side effects?

No. There are no expected side effects from IsoRel. A small percentage of individuals may experience gastrointestinal upset (constipation, diarrhea, bloating, or nausea). IsoRel should be taken with food to minimize the risk of any gastrointestinal complaints.

Q. Is there anyone who should not take IsoRel?

Yes. IsoRel contains soy isoflavones, therefore, if you are allergic or sensitive to soy you should not take IsoRel. Also estrogen positive breast cancer survivors should not take IsoRel because the safety of long-term use of soy isoflavones supplements in this population has not well been established.

Q. Does IsoRel contain any genetically motified material?

No. The Novasoy soybean extract used in IsoRel is not non-GMO, but it is PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) negative. PCR is a technique that is used to replicate, multiply, and define DNA strands in order to identify them. PCR tests for the presence of genetically modified material, and so PCR negative means no genetically modified material is found in the product.

Q. Can IsoRel be taken along with other nutritional supplements?

Yes. IsoRel can be taken along with most other nutritional supplements.

Q. Does IsoRel interact with any prescription medications?

Yes. As with any dietary supplement, it is recommended you discuss with your pharmacist and or healthcare team to clarify whether IsoRel can be taken along with your medications.

Tamoxifen (Nolvadex) - Soy isoflavones may decrease the effectiveness of Tamoxifen. Do not take supplements with soy isoflavones while on Tamoxifen.

Take the following medications separate from IsoRel:

Thyroid hormone medications (levothyroxine, Synthroid, Armour Thyroid, Eltroxin, Estre, Euthyrox, Levo-T, Levothroid, Levoxyl, Unithroid): These medications are used for low thyroid function. Soy isoflavones can interfere with the absorption of the medications by the body. Separate by a minimum of 4 hours.
