PRODUCT FAQ

Q. How is Cerasus CQ different than other tart cherry supplements?

Cerasus CQ is different from other tart cherry supplements as it is specifically formulated to support a healthy immune system, aid in exercise recovery, and promote an optimal uric acid level.*

Cerasus CQ contains CherryPURE™, a Montmorency tart cherry powder made from whole tart cherries (Prunus cerasus), which has been used in several research studies. Cherries are naturally rich in vitamins, minerals, and flavonoids called anthocyanins. The formulation also includes vitamin C and quercetin, both of which are antioxidants that are naturally present in cherries. These three ingredients help promote a healthy immune system, an optimal uric acid level, and support exercise recovery.*

Q. What is quercetin?

Quercetin is a nutrient found in red wine, onions, kale, apples, cherries, and green tea. It is a natural antioxidant that has been studied and shown to promote a healthy immune system and an optimal uric acid level.*

Q. Who is likely to benefit from Cerasus CQ?

Any adult or athlete looking for a supplement to help support their immune health, exercise recovery, and promote a healthy uric acid level.*

Q. Are there any side effects from taking Cerasus CQ?

No. There are no expected side effects from Cerasus CQ.

Q. Can I take Cerasus CQ with other dietary supplements?

Yes. You can take Cerasus CQ with most other supplements, such as multivitamins, omega-3s, glucosamine, cranberry, chondroitin, and PEA.

Tart cherry powder, found in Cerasus CQ, may lower blood glucose (sugar) levels. Taking tart cherry along with other herbs and supplements that might lower blood sugar could lower it too much. If low blood sugar is a concern for you, be sure to monitor your blood sugar while taking tart cherry. Herbs and supplements that might lower blood sugar include cinnamon, devil's claw, guar gum, inositol, Panax ginseng, and Siberian ginseng.

Q. Does Cerasus CQ® interact with any prescription medications?

Yes. As with any dietary supplement, it is recommended you discuss with your pharmacist and or health care team to clarify whether Cerasus CQ® can be taken along with your medications.

Quinolone Antibiotics (ciprofloxacin (Cipro), levofloxacin (Levaquin), ofloxacin (Floxin), moxifloxacin (Avelox), gatifloxacin (Tequin): Quercetin may interfere with the effectiveness of quinolone antibiotics. Do not take Cerasus CQ while taking these antibiotics.

Cerasus CQ® may also affect the absorption of certain prescription medications as follows:

Medications for diabetes (Antidiabetes drugs - glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), chlorpropamide (Diabinese), glipizide (Glucotrol), tolbutamide (Orinase)): The tart cherry powder in Cerasus CQ® may naturally lower blood glucose (sugar) levels. Diabetes medications are also used to lower blood glucose. Taking tart cherry along with diabetes medications may cause your blood sugar to go too low. Monitor your blood sugar closely. Separate by 3-4 hours.

Antihypertensive Drugs (blood pressure medications such as captopril, enalapril, losartan, valsartan, diltiazem, amlodipine, quinapril, hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide): The quercetin in Cerasus CQ® can modestly decrease blood pressure in people with mild hypertension (high blood pressure). Theoretically, it might have additive blood pressure lowering effects when used with antihypertensive drugs and increase the risk of low blood pressure.

Cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune): These medications are used to prevent rejection of grafts and transplants and to treat antiarthritic and psoriasis. The quercetin in Cerasus CQ® may increase blood levels and prolong the half-life of a single dose of cyclosporine. Use with caution.
