LATEST RESEARCH UPDATE:  A 2017 study published in Nutrients evaluated the impact of multi-vitamin/multi-mineral supplement (MVMS) use on the nutritional status of adults living in the USA. This study analyzed data in 10,698 adults (5349 females and 5349 males) from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) 2009 to 2012. Researchers concluded that MVMS use is associated with decreased micro-nutrient inadequacies, intakes slightly exceeding the established upper limit for a select few nutrients, and reduced risk of nutrient deficiencies.
