    What is DHEA?
DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands and liver. DHEA can be converted to both male and female hormones. DHEA levels typically peak at about 20 years of age and decline rapidly after age 25.
What are the benefits of DHEA?
DHEA supports female fertility by promoting ovarian health, and healthy egg and embryo quality.*

DHEA also provides hormone support for men and women as they age, and promotes healthy mood and overall well-being.*

How is DHEA 50 different from other DHEA supplements?
DHEA 50 is a high-quality, plant-derived micronized DHEA supplement. Plus, it’s independently tested by NSF® International for content accuracy and purity. That means it has everything it should, and nothing it shouldn’t.
Are there any side effects from taking DHEA 50?
DHEA is considered safe for most people when taken in doses of 75 mg or less for limited time periods. At higher doses, and with long-term use, DHEA can have side effects, including acne, oily skin, facial hair growth, headaches, mood changes, nausea, stomach upset, or decreased HDL cholesterol levels.

DHEA should be taken under the supervision of a healthcare provider.

Is there anyone who should not take DHEA 50?
Yes. The following individuals should not take DHEA 50:

  • Anyone under the age of 18.
  • Competitive athletes. DHEA is banned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the International Olympic Committee, and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
  • Women who are pregnant or nursing, have endometriosis, or have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
  • Those with liver problems.
  • Those with a history of hormone-related cancer, such as breast or prostate cancer.
  • Individuals with diabetes, unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider.
  • Those with hyperlipidemia.
  • Men trying to father a pregnancy. DHEA may affect sperm production.
  • Can I take DHEA 50 with other nutritional supplements?
Yes. DHEA 50 can be taken with most other nutritional supplements. However, if you’re considering DHEA with inositol, check with your healthcare provider. DHEA may raise testosterone levels and inositol may lower testosterone levels, counteracting the potential benefit of either supplement.
